Around the World in 80 Minutes

Our stake did a great activity called "Around the World in 80 Minutes". Members of the stake were invited to bring food and items from countries they had lived in. Some had lived in foreign countries when they were children, as military service people, as employees, and also as missionaries. Tables featured international foods, games, music, and displays from all over the world and gave people from different wards a chance to talk to one another. It was a fun, no pressure missionary opportunity, too. The style was basically a 3 hour Open House mid afternoon, with presenters setting up in the early afternoon. It was a great way to help the immigrant members of our Stake share their love of their homelands.

The activity was such a success that one Bishop suggested that we invite the entire community to come to the next one!
