LDS Young Women

Prior to our visit, we contacted the temple and they gave us a specific date and time to come. They also provided a TV and DVD player for us to use our church approved materials (DVDs and CDs). We assigned two teachers to be in charge of the water and three children volunteered to help us with the activity in order to fulfill their Faith in God requirements. These children prepared posters leading up to the activity, then greeted children at the door of the temple waiting room, handed out color coded stickers, and gave prayers at the activity. During the month leading up to the activity, we made sure the announcement was made over the pulpit and placed in the programs during our Sacrament meeting each week. The invitatons were passed out to the children two Sundays in a row prior to the activity. The invitiation included the date and time of the activity as well as where to meet and what to wear, which was Sunday best.

We wanted our children to learn that work can be fun. We volunteered to clean the church one day. We fashioned our day after the CBS show: The Amazing Race.
